Hey 2394- I didn't go to the Live in Buffalo show- my husband and I thought about it, but it was really friggin hot that day, and when it started to pour like that, we thought we'd just wait for the dvd. We'd have to have gotten there the day before- there were so many people. But i was lucky enough to meet Robby twice at his music is Art festival- and he is even nicer than you can imagine. We actually have something in common- he went to my high school, and graduated with my cousin. I think they may have even been in the same homeroom.... but I digress. Anyway, I will definitely be back to see them if they come into Toronto again! (or anywhere near there...!!!)
Hey jadsiers, no problem. I think we have to respect what other people say. I am glad you would come back to Canada to see them. I thought the lighting was terrific! They may be back in the Fall was what what John told us when he came out to see us. Maybe we'll see you then. Were you at the Live in Buffalo show?
Hey 2394- I am glad you had a great time at the Toronto show- as did my sister and I - we both saw them play at the Continental in Buffalo waaaayyy waaaay long ago- before they were such big stars. Was their show in Buffalo better- not necessarily, but the crowd was much better. So that I think made the concert "seem" better. . I just happened to be in a section of the Molson Amp where my sister and I were the only two standing and rockin out (or so it seemed!). Regardless- I'd go back to see them there in a hearbeat! It was still an awesome show! Thank you for respecting my opinion 2394- that's very "goo"d of you!
2394 You have such good luck. Next time the GGD are in your area I', going up there to see them with you...Damm, I knew I should have gotten Mike's autograph when I spoke to him at the Troubadour..Okay, please kick me 2394...I will blog you later.. I have to get ready for work...Have a good day BlueDust
BlueDust, the concert was Great! I got a blue guitar pick, the ones John uses, oh yeah!! I met and talked to Mike, got his autograph twice, one on my ticket and one on my sign. I didn't bring my cd inserts because I didn't think I would see them. John came out and he just hung over a railing and we had to reach up to him. He signed my ticket and also read my sign, he was going to keep it but he signed it instead because Mike had signed it for me. There was alot of people so I didn't get a chance to say "hi" for you, sorry. It was a great day, we drank some beer and I met more fans. The one girl took a picture of me and Mike and she is going to e-mail it to me! I can't wait. Take care, have a good one!
2394: What's up!! How was the concert?? I read that you got giutar picks...That's great!!! It sounds like you had a blast...I wish I would have been there... What color are the guitar picks? I was only able to get one at the Troubadour concert. I fastened the guitar pick to a silver chain, and now I could have the GGD close to my heart. I know it sounds corny, but I don't care... Where you able to give them a hug and a kiss for me...Tell me about it as soon as you get this Blog...P.s I'm glad you had an AWESOME time at the GGD concert..BlueDust..
sorry BlueDust, forogt to answer your question. Yes, John did play Iris like he did at the LIB show - he told us "since you've already done this last time we were here, we're gonna try to do it again." He asked us to sing the end for him. It was touching. Even though I wasn't at the LIB show, it captivates me every time I watch and I know how much it meant to everyone who attended. Plus, John said how much crap they had to take for Name. I think they were a little rushed. The blog says that the show itself wasn't rushed, but I think it seemed like it due to the fact that they'd rather hit the audience with music than commentary. They said small things like "This is from our new album" or "Thanks for stickin' with us" in between numbers. Nonetheless, it was a great show. I wished they would've cut loose the openers , some Willie (?) band, then both the Goos and CC could've played longer. I really thought they'd want to play extra long for their hometown, but they are totally on a strict schedule and they might have had to hed up to Toronto. Don't worry Torontons, they'll ROCK YOUR ENTIRE BODY! Stay tuned for my review. Dawnyy99, you've got it babe. We'll pay them to come back!
Hey jadsiers, I was at the Toronto show lastnight and I stood and danced the entire time the GGD's played and I knew the words to every song. I also made a sign for them. The crowd is obviously going to be different here than in their hometown. Was the show better in Buffalo? I didn't get into the M&G but we left after the Goo's performed and went and waited by their bus and I got to see Mike and get his autograph and then John came out and I got his too and talked to both of them and got a picture with Mike. I think alot of the fans were there to see the Crows, I just wasn't one of them, nor were the 10 other people I was with.
I was not going to post anything, but after seeing the goos in their hometown Saturday, and then making the trip up to Toronto to see them again last night, I have one thing to say- nothing, and I mean nothing, beats a hometown crowd. I swear that my sister and I were the only one's at the Toronto show who knew the words to all the songs, and we were the only ones who actually stood up thru the whole concert. Robby even dedicated a song to all the people who still had their "asses glued to the seats". On Saturday in Buffalo, I would dare to say that it would have been an effort to find anyone in the crowd who was not singing along, and who was sitting down. There is absolutely nothing like a hometown fan- don't you agree boys??? Thanks for two awesome shows!
yeah, that show rocked beyond belief. Check out my concert review I hope to post tomorrow on the forum. I've had it typed since Sunday, but haven't had time to transfer it from paper to the web.
But back to the important things:
If everyone else passed out, at least I could run up onstage and have John all to myself. I got there earlier than most people Saturday, so since our seats were pretty descent, I could see the stage very clearly. I was lucky i had an aisle seat! :-)
But anyway, a few times before the CC went on, I think I saw Robby maybe once or twice. The netting stuff they put up under the stage, sort of like a temporary wall, so the band can stand while waiting to go on without fans buggin' 'em. You'll know what I mean if you've seen them. I am positive I saw Rob walking around in his black Richmond Angels t-shirt and waht looked like jeans. It was hard to tell when it got darker. I took some pics, they came out blurry like this one cuz i was far away and it was dark. that should be kodak's next camera, one specially designed for concert pics... with ultra zoom lenseskm32592 I'm glad you enjoyed the concert..Yes, John wore the same thing at th concert I went attended ...I hope he washed his clothes, cuz man if he didn't...He'd stink real bad, and I think his band mates would be the frist to pass out then the audience...As John is staring out at the audience (wondering what just happened) all he could hear is the crickets churpping away in the distance..HA! Tell me did John do anything special with the audience? Have a good evening..BlueDust

Oh my god. Wow. Amazing. When I first saw John in his Black Widow tshirt and ripped stonewash jeans, I thought "Hey, that would be cool if he wore it to the Buffalo show". And he did. I was so shocked. He really looked good last night. His hair- perfectly crafted. His clothes- perfectly washed (after fighting 20 guys for the laundry machines:-) His smile - Never stopped glowing )And his performance was brilliant. I would've made them play all night if I could've. Wonderful job Goo!
